What do you think of when you think of loving the Lord with your strength? It could be ripping telephone books (what are those) in half or breaking handcuffs with your strength but in the shema that we have read each day it refers more to an increase or ‘strengthening’ of every area of our life in devotion to God.

I don’t know about you but I could use an increase in patience, devotion, and many other areas of my life. What does it look like if I ask God to increase those areas by His strength? I am thankful for those areas that I see God working, the areas that I give to him and act better than I might on my own. Follow God truly makes my life better and makes me better at life!

Prayer

God, will you increase our love for you, today and every day will you increase and strengthen our relationship and love for you! Thank you for the strength, the increase that you give every aspect of our being! We love you and worship you today!

Do

Choose an area or a couple of areas for you to increase your devotion to God. Maybe it is time in prayer, reading the bible, there are literally countless ways that we can increase our love for God! Repeat the Shema today as a celebration of the power of prayer this week!
