Michael Hinton | January 2, 2022
2022 is here and many of us are already planning how we are going to commit to changing our lives for the better with some sort of resolution. We like to tell ourselves that this year will be better than the last, and we say that every year. The truth is though, things change all the time whether we initiate that change or not. Michael Hinton sends us into this new year by reminding us that one of the things that changes a lot is our language. Words come to take on different meanings, some pretty drastic. In particular, the word “Christian” is one that is tossed around more than any time throughout history. At the same time, it probably has the most different meaning than at any other time in history. So what does this have to do with Jesus? Jesus didn’t invite people to be Christian, but to enter the “kingdom of heaven.” So how do we follow Jesus in this, in our own lives?
