Pride

Rusty George | February 6, 2022

Every single one of us has a “blind spot” when it comes to the habit addressed in this message: pride. In a sense, most of the habits we’ve covered in this series are blind spots; however, this one tends to leave a bigger mark in our lives and our relationships. It is so easy to see pride in others, but it is a lot harder to see it in the mirror. Rusty defines pride in this message as “a feeling of superiority over others.” When we feel superior it affects not only our relationship with others, but our relationship with God, too. Many times, we don’t recognize until it’s too late or a crisis comes up where we can’t avoid it anymore. However, it doesn’t have to be that way. When we ask God for forgiveness and help, and humble ourselves so that the ones we love the most can keep us accountable, we can change the direction of our pride, and therefore, our life.
