Eat
Mike Breaux | May 30, 2021
Mike Breaux speaks this week on the "E" in our B.L.E.S.S. series, which stands for "eat." We all love to eat! Food is a major topic in cultures across the world. There are cooking shows, podcasts, cookbooks, and of course, eating competitions. More than any of this, though, is the way that meals connect us on a relational level.
There is something about sharing a meal that brings people together in a special way. Conversations that may have never happened otherwise, take place at a meal. Special occasions are celebrated by meals. And, it probably doesn’t come as a surprise that Jesus put special importance on sharing meals, too. And equally unsurprising, is that he did it in a way that not many people expected and still challenges our social norms today.
Breaux unpacks a couple of these instances and challenges us to use the meals we eat together to be a blessing to our communities and to our world.
