When reading the Bible, there can be a lot of unfamiliar language that is used that can become quite confusing. One phrase that many often encounter is what the Bible calls “sins of the father, ” which is often misunderstood as inherited sin or generational curses. But does this really coincide with the character of God? Does this really fit in with the teachings of Jesus? Actually, it does—but probably not in the way that you’re thinking.
Rusty digs deep into some scriptures in this message to reassure us that we don’t have to let the baggage of our parents define us, we don’t have to pass it on, and we certainly don’t have to worry about whether God loves us anymore, or any less, based on what our parents did or what family we come from.
