How to Fix Your Thoughts
Michael Hinton | May 1, 2022
Our brains are extremely complex organs, which is great. They equip us to do extraordinary things that we often take for granted in our daily lives. However, because our brains are so wonderfully complex, the wires can get crossed pretty easily and it can affect our thoughts, habits, and spill out to our relationships and so on. Every time we think a thought, that thought becomes easier to think next time and it creates ruts like a river cutting into a mountain.
Again, this can be good, but it can also get us into trouble, sometimes significantly so.
Because of this, Paul reminds us to think about positive things so that the negative ones don’t get so entrenched within us. Hinton goes off of Philippians 4:8 to help us to reinforce these positive thoughts so that the negative thoughts don’t show up as much, and, in turn, gets us closer to a life that honors God and our neighbor instead of otherwise.
