When Doubt Creeps In
Michael Hinton | May 15, 2022
Michael Hinton talks about something that is often avoided in the global church in this message. Oftentimes, we only see what we want to see. That is, we often only see the good or beautiful side of things without inquiring into the darker or uglier side of things. We especially like to try and do this in relationships. People always talk about the beautiful side of marriage but they don’t mention how you act with your partner when you live together in a small apartment with only one bedroom! But, we also do this with faith. We love to talk about God working in our lives, something amazing happening and labeling “God moments.” However, we don’t like to talk about doubt.
Hinton makes the argument that this is unfortunate because, without doubt, our faith is not as strong as it could be. If we aren’t intimidated by it, doubt can actually enhance our faith so we explore how this is so by looking at how Jesus related to the disciples when they had doubts, which was quite often! If they can work through it, so can we.
