Beats & Battles
It has been said that music is the universal language of all humankind. We all have some sort of musical taste or preference. And, what makes music so universal is its broad range of emotion that it can cover. There are genres for dance and party, there are genres for happiness and love, and then, there are also genres of anger and sadness. Did you know there was music in the Bible? In fact, there is probably no better source of these broad ranges of emotion in the Bible than in the Psalms.
In this series, called Beats and Battles, we want to focus on the raw and the rough of the Psalms, and the ways in which they connect to our mental health. No matter if you have a diagnosis, know someone who does, or you’ve never really given a thought to mental health, you are guaranteed to find something of value in these series of messages. Life is often tough, and that’s an understatement, but there is hope. Even Jesus had his favorite Psalms that he often quoted. And if they can be a valuable source to Jesus, they can certainly be of value to us today!
