Serving Opportunities
RLC Lancaster Neighborhood Cleanup

Project
Team will spend time clearing the neighborhood streets and sidewalks of any trash, especially along Ave M from the 14 to 20th W. Help us show some love to the neighborhood surrounding our church home.

Assist Valley Oasis Thrift Store

Project
Valley Oasis needs volunteers to assist at their thrift store. Tasks may include cleaning, organizing, and assisting customers in the shop. The charity thrift store supports Valley Oasis’s efforts to help victims of domestic violence.

Organize and Clean Domestic Violence Shelter

Project
Valley Oasis needs volunteers to organize and clean the pantry and shed at their Domestic Violence Shelter. The shelter is a 60 day emergency shelter open 24-hours a day. With a 65 bed capacity, the shelter provides services to men, women and children of all ages who are victims of domestic violence.

Santa Clarita

Serving Opportunities
Val Verde Wash Clean Up

Project
There is a ravine that runs through the town of Val Verde and passes right in front of the community center. Over time trash collects in it devaluing the community. Our task would include our team walking through the ravine/wash and removing trash by hand using grabbers and trash bags. This is a simple way to help out the wonderful town of Val Verde in keeping it clean and safe.

Any type of trash retrieval tools such as tongs, poker and gloves.

Canned Food Drive

Project
This canned food drive directly impacts the SCV community and families. Santa Clarita Grocery (SCG) SCG provides between 200-250 families a week with a week’s supply of groceries. Joining this project means you will go grocery shopping and fulfill the needs described in the attached list provided by SCG which is based on their current needs. We will be receiving canned food from 8-11 am July 23 at the Real Life Church Valencia Campus.

Castaic Lake Clean Up

Project
Our team will take a specific area around Castaic Lake and clean up trash and some brush clearance. This is a good project for the entire family. Project time is expected to be around 2-2.5 hours.

We will begin our day at Real Life Valencia Campus at 7 am (6:30 am check-in) and caravan to the site.

Clothing/Health
Make sure to dress appropriately with long pants and good hiking shoes or boots. It will also be a good idea to bring a hat, sunscreen and water. Remember to drink lots of water the night before and to bring some water with you.

Val Verde Graffiti Removal

Project
There is a water tower above the community center that has been hit with a lot of graffiti. Our goal is to take a team and paint as much of the graffiti from the tank as possible.

Project
Warehouse Organizing: we will need approx 30 people to perform various tasks like warehouse organizing and stocking shelves.

Bridgeport Marketplace Walking Path Clean Up

Project
Our team will be cleaning up the shrubs along the Bridgeport Marketplace Walking Path behind the RLC auditorium. This project directly impacts the community around RLC Valencia keeping the community walking path clear and clean.

Time
We will begin our day at Real Life Valencia Campus at 7 am (6:30 am check-in).

Supplies Needed
Please bring gloves, hat, appropriate clothing and shoes. Make sure to drink plenty of water the night before.

Carousel Ranch Heart of the West Preparations

Project
Our team of 40 people will help remove and organize the decorations for the Heart of the West fundraiser that will happen later in the year. Heart of the West is Carousel Ranch’ largest fundraiser of the year. As a team we will get to be on the front side of this project to help CR prepare for a successful event.

Carousel Ranch Horse Coral Fence Painting

Project
There is a large steel tube corral fence that goes around the horse arena. Much of the fence has paint peeling. Our team will sand the areas that need to be sanded, primer and paint approximately 300′- 400′ of fence.

Connect with a teacher at a local school and sponsor the classroom by decorating the room and raising support for the classroom supplies for the coming year.

Paint Project

Who Are You Serving?
Local School

What Is the Project?
Contact a school administration from one of the local schools in your area and identify a paint project; classroom, outdoor area, outer wall, etc.,. Make sure students come to a “beautiful” setting as they start the new school year.

Who will join you?
Recruit a team to join you for the project. If it is local to one of our campus locations, we can promote the serve project on our website.

Back to School Drive

Who Are You Serving?
Under resourced students.

What Is the Project?
Contact your local school and find out the anticipated need for backpacks for under resourced students at the school. This project will plan for fundraising, purchasing, and packing backpacks to be delivered to the school with students in need for the coming year.

Who will join you?
Build a team who will help you through the multiple phase of this project. Fundraising, purchasing school supplies and backpacks, packing the backpacks and delivery.

Budget
Depends on the requested number of backpacks and the funds needed to supply them. Church will match the donations up to $300.

Serve Your Community

Sponsor a Youth Sports League

Who Are You Serving?
Youth Sport families in the community.

What Is the Project?
Find a youth sport program to support. Be it baseball, soccer, or hockey. You can serve them with drinkk, snacks, or create a makeshift ice cream truck and create some fun and memory for the families in your community.

Who will join you?
Invite people with interest or affinity for the sports program and provide an opportunity to give back and bless others.

Budget
Consider raising funds. RLC will partner up to $200.

Welcome to the Neighborhood Package

Who Are You Serving?
Welcome new families moving into the neighborhood.

What Is the Project?
As the new school year draws near, many new families will be moving into the neighborhood. Be a welcoming crew by creating a welcome package which includes giftcards to the local businesses, recommendations, and helpful tips and information. Let’s welcome new families into the community and be great neighbors!

Who will join you?
This is a great project to engage your neighbors and to provide opportunties for service with an eye towards building a sense of community in your neighborhood. Bigger the group, larger the reach to impact new families in your community.

Budget
RLC will sponsor $100 towards the giftcard to build the welcoming package for your community.

Adopt a Senior Community / Facility

Who Are You Serving?
Senior community in your city.

What Is the Project?
Find a local retirement community or senior facility and craft a serve opportunity. You can plan a fun activity for the senior citizens of the residential community or facility. Prepare and serve a meal with some entertainment. You can also find service opportunities such as, cleaning, fixing, or purchasing items in need.

Who will join you?
This is a serve project designed for families to partcipate.

Support Your Local Business

Who Are You Serving?
Helping small businesses in the local area.

What Is the Project?
The past couple of years have been a challenging period for many businesses. Find a local business to support by providing visibility and promotion opportunties (both social media and in person), drive business traffic, and or find a project that will help them take the next step.

Who will join you?
Anyone can join to serve the serve project. But once the serve opportunity has been defined, recruit people who can help with the project and can increase traffic to the business.

Clean Up Project

Who Are You Serving?
Your city.

What Is the Project?
Identify the area in your city in need of cleanup. It can be a Park, Business center, civic area, school, etc.,. Leave it better than you found it and small act of beautifying an area can have caskating impact.

Who will join you?
Consider recruiting volunteers both directly and indirectly impacted by the area of the cleanup project. Small groups, families, and residence or tanants of the location can all participate to bring beauty and cleanliness to the city.

Budget
Cleaning supplies, supplies for fixing or painting projects. RLC will consider supporting up to $100.
